UNA St Ives Resort, Cornwall

The Una St. Ives redevelopment is a significant expansion of the existing resort at Carbis Bay to provide 92 new holiday-let villas, a 55-bed apartment hotel and associated social and guest amenities.

Architects Dyer were appointed in 2016 to reimagine the original masterplan to come up with an exceptional, luxury resort development set within verdant natural landscaping. Our solution was to create a central cruciform 'piazza' which comprises the hotel and guest amenities, with the villas arranged over a series of terraces which follow the existing topography of the gently sloping site.

The villas designs are bold and contemporary, using a natural palette of stone, timber and render cladding. Generous areas of glazing flood the open plan interiors with the renowned St. Ives light. The internal accommodation is arranged with the bedrooms at ground floor and the living areas and outdoor terrace at first floor to capture the stunning sea views.

The Redevelopment is currently under construction with the first phases due to complete in early 2023.
