Tally Ho Barn, Guiting Power, Cotswolds

This interesting project from our Dyer archive comprises the conversion of Grade ll Cotswold listed barn into a luxury contemporary eight bedroom home for a private client.  A particular challenge of the project was the planning requirement to reuse the existing window positions. The existing corrugated steel roof was removed and the oak roof rafters and purlins renovated. Where renovation was no longer an option reclaimed timbers were sourced from architectural salvage companies.  A new clay tile roof was added.

The interiors were designed to showcase the historic features of the existing barn. Two bedrooms were positioned at first floor level at each end of the barn, linked by a lightweight bridge.

Having restored the existing fabric of the building, the interiors were finished using contemporary materials and techniques to provide a unique contrast between old and new.
