Budgens, Holt

Architects Dyer were appointed to undertake the design of the category B fit-out and interior design for the shop fit-out of the new Budgens supermarket in Holt. Following a devastating fire in June 2020, the 12,000 sqft store was rebuilt and completed in 2022. Following the completion of the shell building by Corstorphine and Wright, we worked closely with the client to design and curate a store that elevates the overall shopping experience for the customer.

We worked closely with the client to ensure that the new store layout and back of house design meets their needs and reflects the changes that the retail industry is experiencing due to changes in customer behaviours and priorities. The store sits within the small market town of Holt and is an important community asset, supporting the community through engagement and service provision. Its place in the community was a key driver in the design of the store. Our services on this project spanned the initial vision of the store interior through to the detailing of the joinery and signage which was designed in close partnership with the contractor and client.
